I had a Yamaha RBX fretless I used in my days of jazz combos and big band that I sold after recording Planet Reverb. I also had a Fender Jazz that I sold after recording that CD as well. I did this to reduce inventory. I combined the two, so to speak, in the purchase of the Fender Jazz Bass fretless Japanese model. If you don't want fret lines painted on the fingerboard, there is no choice but to get one from Japan.
